Lushland Design's Hank Jenkins considers himself a global citizen and works as a landscape designer based in Berkeley, California. He has a degree in landscape architecture and is passionate about plants. He believes the power of exterior spaces and their ability to be evocative and transportive is fascinating. His philosophy is that in order to achieve an environment that resonates you must allow it to evolve at a natural pace. He considers himself a plant architect because he is so inspired by their physical architecture, color, and texture. Using plants in combination with engaging design is what he craves. Australian plants, succulents, and creating low maintenance architectural planting palettes for the garden intrigue him. When he's not in the garden you can find him speaking at engagements about what he loves or traveling the globe and experiencing what nature has to offer.
